Six Afghan organizations and parties issued a call to the United Nations and the Organization of the Islamic Conference to provide international protection for Camp Ashraf and its residents.
This resolution is as follows:
Ashraf, home to defenseless refugee members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, has been under an all-out siege by Maliki’s regime.
The Afghanistan National Participation Front, Afghanistan National Peace Party, Afghanistan People’s United Party, Afghanistan Youths’ Social Movement Organization, The Green Environment and Clean Air Organization of Afghanistan and the Afghanistan Youths Social Organization strongly condemn this act of the Iraqi government under orders of the Iranian regime.
We call on the United Nations and the Organization of the Islamic Conference to follow up on this subject and not allow the defenseless and innocent Ashraf residents be placed under torture and cruelty.
We also call for the Ashraf siege to be lifted.
