Al-Nahar Website, 24 Nov 2013 – Sheikh Mohamed Bashar al-Feizi, spokesman of the Iraqi Muslim Scholars Association, called for a humanitarian approach towards the PMOI living in Iraq, going on to accuse the Iraqi government of completely abiding by Tehran’s orders.
“It is clear that the Iraqi government’s approach towards the dossier of camps Ashraf and Liberty is far from an independent government that protects its own interests,” he said in a recent press release.
“In fact, we are witnessing it is fully abiding by Iran’s orders and this leads it to take steps that are neither internationally, humanely or legally acceptable,” he added.
“As a first step, we are demanding the release of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis detained in government prisons. The PMOI have been in Iraq for decades. Therefore, we join voice with those calling for a humanitarian approach based on international laws with them and demand the release of the seven abducted hostages,” he said.
