Al-Hadath Int’l News Agency, 10 Oct 2013 – My name is Shahabe and I am the daughter of an Ashraf resident taken hostage and held captive for over a month now by Maliki’s forces. They separated my mother from me and during the past few days I have heard she is being held in one of Maliki’s most horrific prisons controlled by his son. My mother had committed no crime other than sacrificing her all for the people of her country.
I was in Iraq and in PMOI bases until I was six. However, due to the wartime conditions my mother sent me abroad to be safe and far from the fires of war.
I went to the UK and continued my education there. I had a good life but this was always in my mind to see my mother one day. She would send me letters full of love and was like a kind older sister and teacher to me. In fact, in the absence of my father she was everything for me.
After I decided to become a freedom fighter I came to Iraq and during the past years I was along her side. I loved her very much. For me she was a kind mother and a sacrificing sister. I came to Camp Liberty and she remained back in Ashraf, and today she is being held captive by Maliki’s forces. Therefore, I call on all free consciences and noble people across the globe to press international organizations to prevent Maliki from imposing pressure and further limitations on her and committing even more crimes.
The United States and United Nations are responsible regarding the protection of these seven hostages. I express my gratitude in advance for the cooperation of all awaken consciences with us in this regard.
