The important and significant report issued recently by the British House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee has traced the deteriorating human rights conditions in Iran in general, and the crimes and aggressions committed by the mullahs’ regime against the opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran in particular. Most political circles and those following developments in Iran consider this report a great victory for the PMOI, which entered a harsh war against the autocratic regime ruling Iran over three decades ago.
One can consider this report as a significant act in the international community’s method of treating Iran’s dossier and distancing itself from the dark and suspicious shadows of the Iranian regime. This realizes the international community’s mistake on neglecting the opinions and positions taken by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, being “Iran’s largest and most important true and real opposition group.” This indicates a substantial step and might actually pave the path for international stances in this regard.
The PMOI is the main and most important group in the NCRI. During the past years this organization has been able to accomplish very important political victories, with the removal of its name from the US terrorist list topping these successes. It is clear that this organization’s correct and principled method in their struggle to bring about freedom and democracy for Iran and overthrowing its autocratic religious regime stresses on this fact that it will continue to take important and effective steps in the path to its great final victory.
This stance taken by the UK insists on the necessity of more attention by the international community to NCRI’s positions and opinions. It is clear that such a viewpoint by a pure European country will gain the attention of various international perspectives and positions and other countries.
