New York Sit-in، Day 53

Iranian film maker and representative of ‘Committee for Ashraf residents Protection in US’ expressed their solidarity with Ashraf residents

On the 53rd day of sit-in in New York, the participants commemorated Abdol-Reza Rajabi, who was killed under torture by the Iranian regime in Gohardasht prison in Iran on October 28, and vowed to continue his path of resistance.
Monsour Ghadarkhah, film maker and member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), delivered speech and said: “Ashraf is the symbol of resistance against religious fascism for us Iranians and all those who are aware of the situation in the region. It is a hope for a shining future and prosperous and free Iran, and we have faith in Iranian people’s victory with Ashraf residents backing. We stand here before the UN until our demand of guaranteeing Ashraf City protection is met.”
Then representative of the Committee for Ashraf residents Protection in US read the message of the committee and said: “Based on the International Law, International Humanitarian Law and Geneva Convention, transfer of Ashraf protection violates non-refoulement principle. Amnesty International, US Congressmen and the European Parliamentarians have notified Iraqi and US governments in this regard; we continue our sit-in until we obtain guarantee of Ashraf residents protection.
At the end, the solidarity message of ‘Iranians Community in New York’ was read.
