In an unprecedented repressive measure, the clerical regime barred fellow Christians from holding any Easter celebrations. The office of religious buildings of the state security forces sent threatening letters to churches of Urumia and threatened to prevent any gathering of Christians because these ceremonies were related to the time of Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion in “Jerusalem”.
According to the instructions, Christians are only permitted to hold the ceremony in their homes.
Fellow Christians, like the followers of other religions, have been deprived from their most fundamental rights under the dark rule of this medieval regime and have suffered from discrimination. Liberation from this tyranny and oppression will not be realized except by change of the religious fascism ruling Iran.
