New torture methods on prisoners in Zahedan and pressuring families to make forced confessions against their children

The inhuman regime of the mullahs has put pressure on the father of Abdolvahhab Rigi, a political prisoner condemned to death, for a TV interview against his son. He has been threatened that if he doesn’t accept, the death sentence will be carried out. Abdolbaset Rigi, his brother, along with two other prisoners, Abdoljalil Kehrazi and Yahya Chari Zehi, were hanged on October 21 in Zahden prison on the charge of “Moharebeh” (war with God). In the past also families were forced to make interviews against their children with the promise of halting their execution, and then their children were executed based on the very same interviews.

Meanwhile, the regime’s henchmen have resorted to new brutal tortures in order to put pressure on prisoners in Zahedan prison and break them. One of these methods is to suspend them from 180 cm rods that are installed in one of the prison corridors. The prisoner is suspended by handcuffs for six days, and to disturb the digestion system of the prisoners, they are forced to eat castor oil. At the same time, they are only allowed to use bathrooms three times a day. In this situation, the prisoners are given very small amount of food that is essentially not eatable. They are exposed to cold desert weather of Zahedan while they have little clothing. This torture has dire physical and psychological effect for the prisoners and causes intense kidney pain and dire digestive and muscular consequences.

The henchmen use this torture in the prison corridor and in front of the other prisoners in order to prevent other prisoners from any protest by creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation.

Meanwhile, the regime mercenaries spread addiction in the prison using regime affiliated gangs, creating much more difficult situation for the prisoners. The head hangman Mohammad Naroui, the chief inspector of Zahedan prison, pockets up huge amount of cash by selling narcotics in the prison.
