Iraqi forces prevent entry of fuel and black-water tankers to Camp Liberty

Preventing entry of fuel for six days has made Liberty face a dangerous humanitarian crisis

On Monday, August 18, 2014, for the sixth straight day Iraqi forces prevented entry of fuel to Camp Liberty. Preventing entry of fuel to Liberty is being carried out while all basic living affairs at Liberty, such as lighting, cooking, air conditioning, pumping water and black-water drainage, fully depend on the electricity produced by the Camp’s generators;  not providing fuel to the generators would bring all vital service in Liberty to a halt.
Liberty is now facing a critical situation in this regard; dozens suffer heat stroke every day, and the sick and the elderly are in a dangerous condition. Continuation of this situation will soon have cold storages stop working and hence spoiling food stuff.
Furthermore, since Sunday, August 26, Iraqi forces, upon the orders of Major Ahmad Khozair, have prevented entry of black-water tankers into the camp which would add a hygienic crisis too.
Antihuman measures of Iraqi forces in preventing entry of fuel and black-water tankers pursues no goal other than putting the residents under pressure and torturing them in the 50oC heat. The perpetrators of these measures must be prosecuted and punished.
