On Monday, 24 August 2015, Mullah Mahmoud Alavi, Rouhani’s intelligence minister, acknowledged that all of Rouhani’s cabinet ministers are from the revolutionary guards, intelligence ministry agents, judiciary henchmen, and elements of suppression and crime during the rule of the velayat-e faqih system.
Speaking to regime’s Network 1 TV, he said: “The ministers that he [Rouhani] picked were either from the revolutionary guards, members of the central council of Jahad Sazandegi [a suppressive organ affiliated with IRGC], or from other revolutionary institutions such as the judiciary, agents of the intelligence ministry… this combination has resulted in a composition that is adherent to the ideals…”
On 4 August 2013, following the introduction of Rouhani’s cabinet, the Iranian Resistance disclosed the record of each of his ministers and issued a statement which said in part: “Members of ROUHANI’s cabinet introduced to the parliament today are all senior officials of the regime in past three decades with the most roles in war, suppression, and export of terrorism and fundamentalism with none among them out of the circle of mullahs’ regime officials of the past 34 years.”
Mullah Alavi proved the adherence of Rouhani’s cabinet to Khamenei by saying: “Because of the value of [Khamenei’s] guidance, with every passing day, the ties between this government and the Supreme Leader become stronger and stronger.” Meanwhile, showing a level of insult towards Khamenei who has repeatedly portrayed himself as unaware of the nuclear accord details, Alavi said: “We used to swiftly sent the details of the talks and the manuscript of the negotiations” to Khamenei… and “with knowledge of these details he described the negotiators as religious, committed, capable, brave and trustworthy”.
Remarks made by Rouhani’s intelligence minister demonstrate that “moderation” inside the religious fascism ruling Iran is but an illusion and Rouhani’s gestures are but attempts in claiming a bigger chunk of power and the plunder of Iranian people’s assets.
