On Wednesday, May 16, once again, various walks of the people of Kazerun staged a protest gathering and rallied toward the governorate office of the city in protest at the city's division plan. The repressive forces are preventing protestors from approaching the governorate office.

The protesters chanted: Our enemy is right here, they falsely claim it is the U.S.; Do not be afraid, do not be afraid, we are all together; Beware of the day we get armed; Fervent Kazerunis, get united; We are ready to defend Kazerun …

Intelligence agents arrested at least 30 protesters. The families of the arrested people gathered in front of the Kazerun Intelligence Bureau to demand the release of their children and relatives.

At the same time, the marketers and shopkeepers of Kazerun went on strike and refused to open their shops today. As a result, the city market was shut down.

While saluting the protesting people of Kazerun, the Iranian Resistance calls on all the people, especially the brave youths in the surrounding cities, to support the uprising of the people of Kazerun and to show solidarity with the families of the arrested. It also calls on all international human rights authorities to take immediate and effective action for the unconditional release of the detainees during recent protests in Kazerun.
