Number of executions reaches 45 in the past two weeks
Supplementary reports regarding executions in recent days reveal that just on September 1, the clerical regime has executed 15 prisoners.
At least 10 prisoners from Ghezel Hessar Prison of Karaj were collectively hanged. It is said that those executed were the prisoners who were active during the recent riot in this prison.
Four other prisoners were collectively executed in the prison of Hamedan. (Reported by regime’s judiciary)
A prisoner called Bandani of 30 years of age and from Eizeh Township (southern Iran) was hanged in Zahedan’s central prison. This prisoner was a laborer in the town of Chahar Bahar (Sistan and Baluchistan Province, eastern Iran).
Therefore, the number of executions just in the past two weeks reaches 45 and it includes two women. Four of these prisoners were publicly hanged in the cities of Mahmoudabad and Sari (north), Borazjan (south), and Khoy (northwest).
Resorting to a wave of executions in prisons, streets and squares of the cities throughout the country is to intensify the atmosphere of terror in order to face off the expansion of protests and growing popular abhorrence.
