Maryam Rajavi: The solution to the crisis in the Middle East is eviction of mullahs’ regime from throughout the region and its overthrow in Iran
In a conference on Sunday, June 14, titled “Middle East Burning in the flames of Religious Extremism, Iranian Regime’s destructive Role, Roots & Solutions”, where political figures from different countries especially Arab and Islamic countries took part, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, stated that the U.S. strategy against ISIS has failed to succeed because it has ignored the Iranian regime as the core of fundamentalism and has turned a blind eye to the meddling of this regime in Iraq and Syria or has cooperated with this regime. She noted that the Iranian regime considers the arming and empowering of Iraqi nationalistic and tribal forces, the only path out of Iraq’s current impasse, a hundred times more dangerous than ISIS and thus prevents it in any manner possible.
In this conference held at the headquarters of the National Council of Resistance (NCR) in Auvers-sur-Oise, north of Paris, political figures from 25 countries of Egypt, Palestine, Iraq, Iraq’s  Kurdish region, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, United States, Australia, Canada, Pakistan, Tajikistan, India, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Portugal, Maldives and Iran participated. Sid Ahmed Ghozali and Anissa Ben Amour, former Prime Minister and Minister of Algeria; Mohammed Elorabi, former Foreign Minister of Egypt; Hoda Badran, Chair of Network of Arab Women from Egypt; Bassam Al-Omoush, former Jordanian Minister and Ambassador to Iran; Rabiha Diab, Parliamentarian and former Minister of Women’s Affairs for Palestine; Najimeh Taytay, former Minister of Education and Youths from Morocco, were among the speakers.
Mrs. Rajavi added: the plunge of the Iranian regime in three wars of aggression in Iraq, Syria and Yemen has severely weakened this regime despite its sham muscle-flexing. The Iranian regime is in fact empowered by the feeble policies of the United States, the West, and the countries in the region.
Two miscalculations by countries in the region in the past years offered the most help to the rulers in Tehran: Firstly, the illusion that by mollifying this regime its interventions may be prevented; and secondly, this delusion that the initiative to confront the Iranian regime must be in the hands of the United States. These two mistakes had deprived the region from an essential unified action with the Iranian Resistance and had effectively nullified the capabilities and capacities in the region to confront Iranian regime’s aggressions.
Noting the Arab coalition formed to confront the occupation of Yemen by the Iranian regime and its proxies, she added: this experience went to prove that the solution to the regional crisis is resoluteness against this regime. This policy needs to continue until the complete ousting of this regime and its proxies from the region. If this regime is driven back to within its borders, the process for toppling it will be significantly hastened.
In her concluding remarks Mrs. Rajavi stipulated that the only pathway to overcome extremism is the overthrow of the Iranian regime by the Iranian people and Resistance. To achieve this goal, these three steps are essential:
– Firstly, assisting the Syrian people to overthrow the Syrian dictatorship with an initiative similar to that of Yemen;
– Secondly, eviction of the Iranian regime from Iraq, arming Iraqi Sunni tribes, and real participation of Sunnis in the political process;
– Thirdly, supporting the Iranian Resistance as the main opposition to the Iranian regime.
As such, PMOI is the foremost political and cultural bulwark against the growth and influence of fundamentalism.
