
In a press conference in Brussels, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) revealed new detailed information on the activities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC).
In Brussels press conference, Mohammad Mohaddessin, chairman of Foreign Commission of the NCRI and Alireza Jaafarzadeh described the presence of the IRGC commanders in the highest governmental decision making levels and the other governmental organs including the cabinet, the parliament, National Security Council, Radio and Television, and IRGC’s role in spreading weapons of mass destruction.
Referring the revelation of the names of 32,000 mullahs’ regime’s agents in Iraq who receive monthly salaries, Mohammad Mohaddessin described the structure of the mullahs’ regime’s embassy in Iraq and said: ” the Iranian ambassador and directors of this embassy are members and commanders of the Qods Force and have a major role in coordination of fundamentalist and terrorist activities in Iraq. The Iranian regime and specifically IRGC, by terrorist meddling and arms transfer to its affiliated militias and by flaring up the sectarian violence in Iraq to destabilize it and ultimately for the formation of a puppet religious government in order to make it a stage for realizing Khomeini’s dream of an Islamic Empire. This is the mission that IRGC has undertaken.
He said since Ahmadinejad took office, the IRGC’s economic contracts have extensively risen up. In one case in July 2006, two billion dollars were paid to the IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbya headquarters for signing new contracts. It is worth mentioning that in 2006, Khatam al-Anbya signed three new contracts in oil and gas field worth of $7 billions in only one month. Presently the IRGC- affiliated companies have control over 57 percent of the country’s imports and 30 percent of non-oil exports. The income of IRGC from these deals exceeds $5 billions. The IRGC’s Khatam al-Anbya HQ has been assigned for the economic activities of IRGC and more than 40000 IRGC members and 15,000 Basiji Forces have been employed by it.
Mohaddessin added: The IRGC’s economic activities aren’t reported to the government and parliament. It is directed under the direct supervision of Khamenei. No financial report about IRGC’s economic activities is published and its budget is secret. The reports indicate that more then 500 small and large companies belonging to the IRGC are active. The branches of these companies are spread from the countries of Persian Gulf region including Emirates and Dubai to the other Middle Eastern countries and central Asia, South East Asia, Europeans countries, Africa and Latin America. Only in Emirates 483 IRGC’s front companies have branches. The IRGC has created 60 illegal and private waterfronts in the south of country.
Mohammad Mohaddessin provided the reporters with the names and functions of 20 companies affiliated to the IRGC and the names of a number of IRGC commanders who are directly involved in the economic activities.
In the Brussels press conference, Alireza Jaafarzadeh described the IRGC’s role in the regime’s nuclear projects and said: Thanks to the NCRI’s revelations, it’s no secret to anybody that the IRGC has been after acquiring nuclear weapon since the beginning years of the mullahs’ regime, but the last two years’ events after Ahmadinejad came to office needs to be paid more attention. The last Ahmadinejad’s measure, dismissing Larijani, the regime’s Supreme Security Council’s secretary, was an act to speed up the nuclear program in its last steps.
Jaafarzadeh said: I am providing you today with a list of names of IRGC’s high ranking specialists in the mullahs’ regime who are involved in regime’s nuclear programs.. Among them are experts with the rank of Brigadier and veteran Iran-Iraq war commanders. In this list of IRGC’s specialists’ list, there are persons who are being revealed for the first time by the NCRI at this conference. It also includes many IRGC’s experts who have already been revealed by the NCRI and now are liable to the sweeping sanctions by the UN Security Council and the US President’s order. We ask the remaining persons of this 24-name list which includes the specialists in advanced P2 centrifuges and laser enrichment to be liable to these sanctions.
