The mullahs’ regime ruling Iran reveals its devious intentions against Ashraf residents and the peaceful solution for their relocation under the pretext of “Iraqi sovereignty matters!”
Ramin Mehmanparast, foreign ministry spokesman of the Iranian regime said in recent remarks, “Regarding the transfer of the Monafeqin (term used by the Iranian regime for the PMOI) from Camp Ashraf to the temporary camp Liberty for their final departure from Iraq, well, this was a subject that was considered a part of the Iraq’s sovereignty matters. We welcomed this step taken by the Iraqi people and the Iraqi government’s will, we support it, and if individuals from inside the Monafeqin are ready to return to the country, we welcome this return. We have said this time and again in the past. Nonetheless, the presence of security threats and groups that have terrorist records in this region, especially in neighboring countries, has never been supported by any of the countries or people of the region. This is the will of the Iranian people, the demand of the Iraqi government for them to leave the region and the country of Iraq. We also welcome assistance provided by the UN and the UNHCR regarding the expulsion of the Monafeqin from Iraq.”
