The midterm session of the National Council of Resistance of Iran(NCRI) was held on 12-14 Jan. with the presence of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, during which the political developments, social turbulent circumstances in Iran , severe crises of the mullahs’ regime and the achievements of the Iranian Resistance were discussed.

The session also discussed the sham elections of the regime’s ‘Majlis’, and its total boycott by the aware people of Iran. The NCRI’s statement reads in this regard: The oppressed people of Iran shall not participate in the sham elections that is set up to trample their sovereignty and shall boycott it.

In her speeches, Mrs. Rajavi underlined the spread of internal and international crises of the Iranian regime as well as the advances and achievements of the Resistance inside Iran and abroad. She also explained the role of the organized Resistance in contiuance and promotion of the public resistance and protests.

President-elect of the Iranian Resistance described the growing support of the PMOI in the city of Ashraf by Iraqi people, political personalities, nationalist forces and tribes, and in particular the statement by 300,000 Iraqi Shiites against the Iranian regime as a change in political atmosphere and situation in Iraq.

In this session, Mohammad Qorbani, Iran’s wrestling champion, presented his World Champion gold medal to Mrs. Rajavi.
