INTV, 1 Oct 2013 – Tunne Kelam, member of Foreign Relations Committee of the European Parliament from Estonia, sent a message to Camp Liberty after the Ashraf massacre expressing his support and solidarity.
“Dear friends, brothers and sisters in Camp Liberty. We all have experienced very sad and tragic days, you most of all, because many of our common friends have lost their lives, have been murdered, and we are especially worried about seven of your colleagues who have been caught by terrorists, and I can only say in the European Parliament and in the European institutions that the fate of our seven friends have been made clear and has reached the highest levels.
“We await and count that our representatives will do their job and put enough pressure on Iraqi authorities to make them free and let them join you. I know that you are on hunger strike, and our friends, the seven people too. This is the utmost expression of protest you can do. But your strengths is the support of all your friends and I can convince that this support, our prayers, our actions, continue in your favor. And we are together with you and we hope and we are sure that these enormous efforts, your persistence, your commitment to Iranian liberty and freedom will prevail. Good luck and we pray for you.”
