Maliki receives orders directly from Iran: Tareq al-Hashemi

Al Qarbiya TV, 19 Oct 2013 – On Iran’s meddling in Iraq, Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi said there is no government in Iraq, orders come directly from Iran, and decisions are taken in Iran’s interests. The attack on Camp Ashraf by Maliki’s special forces, the execution of 52 Iranian refugees, abduction of seven others and taking them to an unknown location, establishing an air and land bridge for the transfer of Iranian weapons and ammunition to Assad’s regime that is killing its people on a daily basis, are all the best evidence proving Iran’s meddling in Iraq.
At the end of his speech Hashemi proposed a plan consisting of three steps, beginning with Maliki’s government resigning, the establishment of an executive government, holding a national conference under the supervision of the international community to evaluate the last ten years of the political process, clarify the rifts and challenges ahead and agree on a joint road map to bring about reform and change.
It is worth noting that Hashemi’s visit raised much anger amongst the prime minister’s inner circle, considering this visit as a call for war against the current government and a new position by the European Parliament.
