More than 1,000 German political and human rights personalities as well as freedom-loving Iranians participated in a large session in Germany’s Capital and asked for immediate halt of executions in Iran.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, in a video message to that session, emphasized: The appeasing governments have consented to the continuation of this tragedy in return for extensive economical deals, intelligence cooperation, and giving various incentives to the mullahs and by putting the PMOI in terrorist lists.
This session was held in the famous hall of Urania in Berlin on the invitation of the German Solidarity Committee for a Free Iran and the Iranian community in Berlin, supported by the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s office in Germany and “Germany’s social workers’ Syndicate” and with participation of more than 1,000 people.
A great number of political and social personalities and representatives of various human rights organizations participating in the session announced their solidarity with the goals of the session and supported the call for “immediate halt of executions in Iran”.
In her message to the session, Mrs. Rajavi said: “The mullahs’ objective is to create fear in the society. Only during this spring the Iranian people carried out 1,700 protesting activities. The mullahs are afraid of the youth’s tendency towards the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran…For the last two decades there has been a direct relation between the number of executions and the volume of trade deals and terrorist labeling of the PMOI. The terrorist labeling of the PMOI is the biggest justification of mullahs for political executions in Iran.”
After Mrs. Rajavi’s speech, one of the Federal Representatives said: “The public executions is the sign of barbarism and is not acceptable whatsoever for the world community” He asked for sanctions against the mullahs aiming at weakening the mullahs’ dictatorship.
Mrs. Monica Timman, Berlin’s district Mayor, in a message to that session, stated:” It is not bearable in a civilized society to ignore indifferently the atrocities carried out in Iran. The European countries should step forward immediately and effectively to stop execution in Iran.”
Several other prominent personalities and human rights activists including Brent Heuzler, jurist and former speaker of Berlin Bar Association; Dr. Lorenz Wilkens, German priest and historian; Frank Hammer, Parliament member from Brandenburg and one of the representatives of Green Party condemned the executions and violation of human rights in Iran , supported the Iranian Resistance and asked for removal of the PMOI from the terrorist list.
