Dr. Mahmoud Kharabeshe, Jordanian MP and head of the Arabic Delegation in Defense of Ashraf, along with Dr. Taha al-Luhaibi from the Iraqiya Coalition participated in an interview with al-Babelyia TV. These two prominent figures stressed on Ashraf residents’ legal status as protected refugees under UN conventions, announcing, “Maliki’s deadline and the implementation of inhumane pressures against Ashraf are in violation of International Law and Iraqi laws. These measures have no other reason but the pressures and meddling of the Iranian regime.”
“The truth is the Iraqi government succumbs to the Iranian regime’s pressures and orders,” they added, “and the Iranian regime’s officials have repeated remarks saying it is necessary to close down Camp Ashraf to get rid of the residents.”
