Italian Senate majority statement supporting Iranian Resistance rally in Paris

– Support for human rights and democracy in Iran
– Call to ensure international protection for Camp Liberty

– Refer Iran’s human rights violation dossier, especially the massacre of 30 thousand political prisoners, and the dossier of the September 1, 2013 massacre at Ashraf to the UN Security Council and the International Criminal Court and bring those responsible for these crimes to justice
– Support for Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan for democratic change in Iran

The dire and systematic violation of human rights is continuing intensively. The religious dictatorship ruling in Iran is brutally suppressing youths, women, ethnic and religious minorities and all dissidents. In the 9 months since Rouhani’s term more than 700 executions have taken place and 200 of them have been in the first 3 months of 2014.
This clearly shows that there has been no change in Iran during Rouhani’s term. Unfortunately, the international community is turning a blind eye to the catastrophic human rights situation in Iran for economic interests and as a result of the nuclear negotiations.
Parallel to internal suppression, the religious fascism ruling in Iran has placed some 3000 Iranian refugees in Camp Liberty Iraq under the toughest repressive measures through the country’s government. This is while in 2013 Camp Liberty was the target of 4 missile attacks. The Iraqi Government is preventing the implementation of the minimum security measures at this camp.
The religious dictatorship, in order to counter its deep domestic and international crises, in addition to internal suppression has resorted to exporting terrorism and warmongering in the region, including in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, and it is continuing on with its clandestine nuclear program to acquire an atomic bomb.
Given the abovementioned issues, we the signatories of this statement emphasize the following:
The Iranian regime’s human rights violation dossier, especially the massacre of 30 thousand political prisoners in 1988, and the dossier of the September 1, 2013 massacre at Ashraf to the UN Security Council and the International Criminal Court and bring those responsible for these crimes to justice.
–  The US and UN must compel the Iraqi Government to release the 7 Ashrafi hostages and provide the minimum security measures for Camp Liberty and station a UN monitoring team inside the camp on a 24 hour basis. We call for the immediate transfer of all Liberty residents to the US and EU countries, yet until the residents are in Iraq, their safety and security must be ensured.
–  We defend Maryam Rajavi’s third solution for democratic change in Iran at the hands of the Iranian people and its organized Resistance, and Maryam Rajavi’s 10-point plan for the future of Iran.
