The Italian Democrat Jurists Association and the “Group For All” issued a joint statement expressing its support for an international conference to be held on the issue of crisis in Ashraf.
These legal bodies stressed in their statement, “While as the result of a widespread global campaign and intense international pressures the repressive 31 Dec 2011 deadline against Ashraf has been neutralized, the peaceful solution has faced the wrath and hindrance from the Iranian regime and Iraqi government.”
This statement adds, “To solve this crisis, we welcome and support Mrs. Maryam Rajavi’s suggestion of holding an international conferences on the final peaceful solution in the Ashraf crisis. A conference presided by Martin Kobler, UN Secretary General’s Special Representative to Iraq should be held in the countries of France, Switzerland or Belgium and the Iraqi government’s representative, the US Secretary of State’s special advisor Daniel Fried, US Embassy-Iraq representative, Baroness Ashton’s special representative for Ashraf Mr. Jean Du-Ruyt, European Parliament Vice President Dr. Alejo Vidal Quadras and Mr. Stevenson, President of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with Iraq should take part.”
