
Iraqiya Coalition: Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Saleh Mutlak announced, “The decision to transfer Ashraf residents to Camp Liberty was an Iranian regime and not an Iraqi decision.”
The Iraqiya Coalition issued a statement announcing Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Saleh Mutlak specified in an interview with various news agencies that the Iranian refugees, of which 400 transferred to Camp Liberty, are suffering from harsh humanitarian conditions, a subject requiring UN action as an entity that can accept responsibility in this regard.
“It is essential for the Geneva Conventions to be abided by in resolving the Iranian refugees’ situation in Iraq, considering they are covered by international laws and customs,” Dr. Saleh Mutlak said.
“In this issue, deals are being made on the lives of Ashraf residents and the available information from Camp Liberty indicates that fundamental living necessities are not provided for,” Dr. Mutlak continued.
“This transfer is the result of foreign intervention,” the Iraqi Deputy PM added. “The decision to transfer Ashraf residents was an Iranian regime decision, not an Iraqi decision.”
“This relocation is in violation of UN resolutions and I hope last year’s scenario of attacking Camp Ashraf that lead to a number of refugees being killed and injured, will not reoccur,” Dr. Mutlak stressed.
