Iraqiya calls for release of Ashrafi hostages

Azzaman daily (Iraq), 30 Sep 2013 – The Iraqiya slate called for the immediate release of the seven Camp Ashraf hostages. Iraqi MP Ibrahim Mutlak from the Iraqiya slate said in a statement that Azzaman has obtained a copy of: “Humane and moral duties obligate us to call for the release of these seven hostages who resided in Camp Ashraf.”
“These people were defenseless and it is not logical for them to be abducted, and this brings about a dangerous record,” al-Mutlak added.
“The government’s duty is to release these individuals, on the basis that they are refugees and covered by international laws, and not keep them in detention. The Iraqi government must assume responsibility and release them immediately,” he said.
