The decision to remove the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran from the US terrorist list brought great joy to the hearts of Iraqi people because they have hosted this organization which has strong brotherly relations with them, al-Malaf website reported.
Iraqi political, tribal and religious dignitaries announced their satisfaction of this decision and described it as a victory for all, going further by stressing on their solidarity with this organization.
“On behalf of Iraqi tribes and nationalist movements, we call on the United Nations to recognize the PMOI and consider Camp Liberty as a refugee camp under UN supervision,” said Sheikh Saleh Abu Khomra, Secretary-General of the Iraqi Peace Party.
Sheikh Abu Khomra also called on the Iraqi government to allow visits to Camp Liberty, to journalists, political and tribal delegations and friends of this organization because this is their right to visit Camp Liberty residents.
