Numerous Iraqi nationalist movements and tribal sheikhs issued condemnations against the ridiculous show conducted by the Iranian regime’s embassy outside Ashraf’s eastern flanks by dispatching its agents to stage a so-called demonstration against Ashraf residents.
Iraqi National Movement:
The statement released by the Iraqi National Movement condemns the demonstration staged by Iraqi hirelings outside Ashraf. Despite increasing international, Arabic and Iraqi calls in support of Ashraf residents, and despite positions taken by the United Nations and the UN High Commission for Refugees stressing on the legal presence of Ashraf residents based on international laws and covenants, and emphasis on the necessity to postpone the government’s deadline on Ashraf, the Iranian regime’s embassy intends to dispatch hireling individuals – who must not be considered as Iraqis – outside Ashraf’s gate to portray the infamous conspiracy to crackdown on the residents as an ‘Iraqi’ plan.
Condemning these inhumane measures, the Iraqi National Front considers this ridiculous plot that has nothing to do with the Iraqi people as disgraceful.
In the case of Camp Ashraf, the solution is to cancel the deadline and international protection provided for this camp under UN supervision.
Diyala Province Association of Nationalist Forces – Statement:
We condemn the conspiracy of the Iranian regime’s embassy. A small number of elements whose suspicious relations with the Iranian regime’s intelligence services are well-known staged a protest gathering outside Camp Ashraf. We do not consider them residents of Diyala, in fact they are the Iranian regime’s despised agents. We demand the cancellation of the ultimatum to close the camp and today’s hideous measures prove the necessity of urgent international measures to protect Ashraf.
Lawyers’ Committee in Defense of 1,000 Women in Ashraf:
We condemn the Iranian regime’s plot against Ashraf residents and the show staged by Iranian regime intelligence elements in cooperation with Nouri Maliki’s office. Everyone knows that such measures are tactics used by dictatorial systems to annihilate freedom. We call on the UN, the US government and all activists struggling for democracy, freedom, human rights and women’s rights to take urgent action for the protection of Ashraf.
Al-Rezvanieh Tribal Council of al-Anbar Province – Statement:
We strongly condemn the despicable conspiracy of the Iranian regime and its Iraqi hirelings against Ashraf residents which leads directly to Tehran. The Iraqi people abhor these individuals. They have sold themselves at very low prices to the Iranian regime’s embassy.
A number of Salahaddin Province sheikhs – Statement:
We condemn the gathering of Iranian regime’s agents and intelligence elements outside Ashraf’s gates on Friday. The Iraqi people detest these individuals. They have sold themselves at very low prices to the Iranian regime’s embassy.
Iraqi National Tribes Council in Diyala – Statement:
We condemn the gathering of Iranian regime hirelings against Ashraf residents. This regime intends to pursue its objectives in Iraq at all costs. However, we Iraqis are determined to evict the Iranian regime from our soil. We demand an end to the illegal and cruel siege on Ashraf and for the psychological torture of the residents through 300 loudspeakers to be stopped.
Tribal sheikhs in Western Iraq – Statement:
We the tribal sheikhs of the al-Dalim western region with all its tribes and on behalf of the people of al-Anbar Province strongly condemn the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq, especially its anti-Iraqi activities that are carried out against Ashraf residents by Iranian regime intelligence elements and Nafe Issa, the Iranian regime intelligence’s number one hireling in Iraq.
Independent Association of Jurists in Defense of Human Rights in Iraq – Diyala Branch:
We condemn the sham demonstration against Ashraf residents. The Iraqi government must accept the civil and international community’s demand and allow the UNHCR to initiate its process in Ashraf. We call on the UN Secretary-General and his honorable representative in Iraq to pressure the Iraqi government to begin the UNHCR work in Ashraf.
Iraqi Christian Democrat Party – Statement:
Iraqi Christian Democrat Party Secretary General Dr. Minas Ibrahim condemns today’s provocative and pre-planned measures by the Iranian regime’s embassy and government organs against Ashraf residents, stressing those who participated in this organized gathering have nothing to do with Iraq.
Yathreb Sheikhs Council – Statement:
We condemn the show of the Iranian regime’s agents outside Ashraf and reject their claims regarding the participation of this council in this sham demonstration staged by the Iranian regime’s embassy in front of Ashraf’s gate. We call for the following measures:
– UN must intervene to resolve the issue of Ashraf.
– Maliki’s illegal deadline to close Ashraf must be cancelled.
– UN monitoring team must station in Ashraf to guarantee protection.
Iraqiya Association in Diyala Province:
We condemn the Iranian regime taking advantage of the current conditions in Iraq to carry out a plot against Ashraf. The Iraqi people will not allow any country to impose its will on them by exploiting these conditions.
Iraqi Delegation in Defense of Human Rights – Statement:
We condemn the gathering staged by Quds Force elements to prepare the grounds for an attack against Ashraf and we demand UN forces dispatched for the protection of Ashraf until a solution is reached.
