Iraqi tribal associations and human rights activists issued statements condemning the medical blockade imposed on Camp Liberty.

Karwi Tribal Sheikhs: We condemn the Iraqi government’s inhumane measures leading to the martyrdom of Behrooz Rahimian. We hold the Iraqi Prime Minister responsible for his death and call on the United Nations to intervene in this regard.

Ben Zeid Tribal Sheikhs: We condemn the criminal measures by the Iraqi government’s security apparatus on the martyrdom of Behrooz Rahimian and preventing his hospitalization to receive medical treatment.
We call on international organizations, the European Union, the UN Security Council and the Arab community to intervene to lift the medical siege imposed on Ashraf and Liberty residents.

The National Lawyers Association of Iraq: What is taking place in Camp Liberty, including the prevention of patients being hospitalized in hospitals and/or carry out medical appointments, and the medical and food blockade, are all plots guided by the Iranian regime, and they continue due to the silence of the UN representative in Iraq. This silence is an emphasis on Martin Kobler’s lack of impartiality.

College Students Solidarity Center: Following the martyrdom of a Liberty resident, another shameful act is added to the list of Martin Kobler and UNAMI’s measures in Iraq, and that being a loss of life due to refusing medicine to the patient in Baghdad hospitals. Despite this atrocious inaction, we call on the UN Secretary-General to intervene quickly and replace Martin Kobler with another representative in Iraq.

Association of Humane Assistance: We condemn the martyrdom of another Camp Liberty resident by the name of Behrooz Rahimian, who suffered a cardiac arrest and elements of the Iraqi Army intelligence prevented his hospitalization and humane care for his treatment. We call on the UN to intervene immediately to end these types of behaviors.

Freedom-loving Athletes Society: We condemn the measures of the Iraqi government towards Iraq’s guests, being the Iranian refugees in Camp Liberty, which have led to the martyrdom of Behrooz Rahimian. We call on all relevant international organizations to use every means possible to prevent the pressures imposed by Iraqi government agents on Camp Liberty patients.
