Iraqi Sunni tribes supported the statement of over 300,000 Iraqi Shiites from southern provinces against the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq.

Xinhua, the Chinese news agency, announced: The Iraqi Sunni tribes asked UN and international organizations to respond to all demands mentioned in this statement.

Sheikh Muaiyed al-Humaishi, chairman of political bureau of the Salvation Council of Sunni Tribes of al-Anbar province announced: We approve the statement of Southern Iraqi Shiite Tribes and welcome it and we ask for decisive measures against the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq.
He referred to the Late Sheikh Sattar Abu Risha’s remarks in his meeting with US President George Bush ” We fought for 8 years against the Iranian regime and we are ready again to fight against it to prevent that regime’s meddling in Iraq’s internal affairs ” and added: The statement of Southern Iraqi Shiite tribes against the Iranian regime’s meddling indicates that we are one nation and the others’ efforts for emergence of violence and sectarian strife in Iraq will ultimately fail. He asked the UN to give immediate response to the Southern Shiite tribes.

Khumais Naji al-Jebara, head of the Tribal Sheikhs’ Council of Salahaddin Province in northern Iraq also welcomed the Iraqi southern Shiite tribes’ position against the Iranian regime’s meddling in the southern Iraqi Shiite provinces.

Naji al-Jabara said: The Southern Iraqi tribes’ positions indicate this reality that they keep committed to their Arabic originality. This statement indicates that the southern Iraqi Shiites’ provinces don’t agree with Iranian regime’s policies in Iraq.
