Iraqi Prominent lawyer: UNSG’s report obligates Iraqi government to acknowledge crime against humanity on Ashraf residents

In an interview with the al-Babelia TV, Dr.Mohammad al-Sheikhli, Head of the National Justice Center in London, said: “UN Secretary GeneralBan ki-Moon’s report to the Security Council on the security of Camp Ashraf residents, obligates the Iraqi government on accepting the crimes they have committed against them.

Dr.Mohammad al-Sheikhli added: “Unfortunately and with no doubt, there has been illegal cooperation between the Iranian and Iraqi government on the case of Camp Ashraf residents. We see that the Iraqi government and its mercenaries, who are the Iranian regime’s elements in Iraq, are disregarding the acts being committed which violate the rights and international agreements regarding Camp Ashraf residents, especially the Fourth Geneva Convention that protects persons such as Camp Ashraf residents. With the help of the international community, we were able to condemn the actions of the Iraqi government and in the end, all of the international organizations stood side by side in defense of Camp Ashraf residents”.
