In a press conference in Cairo, Sheikh Harith al-Dhari, head of the Moslem Scholar Association called the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) the honorable guests of Iraq who are under protection of UN and international community resolutions and Geneva Conventions.

In these remarks which were published in Iraqi newspapers he rejected any allegations against the PMOI and called them in contradiction with the Iraqi laws and traditions and said: The PMOI are the honorable guests of Iraqi people and enjoy the UN support and protection of UN and international community resolutions and Geneva Conventions which have provided international protection for them and have considered them legal refugees. They have done nothing to harass and harm the Iraqi people.
