The Iraqi Committee of Jurists and Lawyers in Defense of Ashraf residents issued a declaration calling for a “full, independent and transparent” and impartial investigation regarding the launch of a bloodbath and occupation of Ashraf by Nouri Maliki’s forces. The declaration stresses, “We consider the proposal suggested by the Iranian Resistance President-elect, calling for “the appointment of a representative by the UN Security Council”, as being the prerequisite of an impartial, full, transparent and independent inquiry into this tragedy to hear the words of Ashraf residents and eyewitnesses and view the remnants of the crime, all without any limitations. We call on the UN current president and the UN Secretary General to introduce their representative in this regard.”
