Iraqiya Coalition member Dr. Alla Maki emphasized the Iraqi government must resolve the Ashraf residents’ crisis according to the law.
“The Iraqi government must abide by the Iraqi and international laws in resolving the crisis with Ashraf residents because the law has the last word” Dr. Maki said.
“As we all know, Ashraf residents are considered protected persons by international organizations and all the laws and decisions that are issued by these organizations are binding,” he added.
Maki called on international organizations to have a constant presence in Ashraf to protect the residents and create an adequate atmosphere for the residents.
