The Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance in Ottawa, Canada, staged a demonstration outside the office of UN High Commissionaire of Refugees (UNHCR) in Ottawa on Wednesday and asked for confrontations against the Iranian regime’s plots and for guarantee of protection of Ashraf residents based on the Geneva Fourth convention.

In this demonstration , the families of PMOI member in Ashraf City and the supporters of Iranian Resistance asked the UN and the International Committee of Red Cross(ICRC) to adopt positions regarding observance of the international laws and guarantee of protection of Ashraf Residents by the U.S. and MNF-I.

Mr. Ahmad Hassani, on behalf of the PMOI members in Ashraf city, and Mrs. Raymound Fulco, member of Canadian Federal Parliament delivered speeches in which they emphasized the protection of Ashraf residents according to the international law for the protected persons under the Fourth Geneva Convention. They asked the UN and ICRC to emphasize on the MNF-I and the US for protection of Ashraf.

After speeches, a delegation on behalf of the demonstrators went to the office of the UNHCR ,and in a meeting with the relevant officials explained the situation of Ashraf and expressed their concerns. The UNHCR officials ensured to convey the concerns of Iranians and families of Ashraf residents to UNHCR officials in Geneva.
