Iranian woman activist rejects Iranian regime’s claim of her being forced to stay in Ashraf

The Azzaman daily, published in Baghdad, reported on Wednesday: An Iranian activist woman rejects the Iranian regime’s claims regarding her compulsory presence in Ashraf City.

Somayeh Mohammadi said: Tehran is flaring up a psychological war against the families of PMOI members.

Somayeh Mohammadi rejected that claim that she had been forced to stay in the Ashraf City by the PMOI against her will and said: “This is an absolute lie in the context of a dirty psychological war which is planned against the PMOI and me by the Iranian regime’s Intelligence Ministry (MOIS).”

In a press dialogue, Somayeh Mohammadi said: “10 years ago my father encouraged me to join the PMOI in Iraq. The Iranian regime has staged a psychological war and from my father’s mouth has accused the PMOI of abducting me, whereas I am presently in Ashraf City doing my routine duties.”

Ms. Somayeh Mohammadi said: Over last 5 years I have met my family for 9 times, the last of which was Dec. 8, 2007, and I asserted that I have no intention to leave Ashraf. Any decision I have made has been based on my will and has been knowingly, our leadership have gathered us and asked whether we wanted to stay or leave, but we have resisted and stayed because we commit to our principles.

Regarding the measures that the PMOI will take against the Iranian regime’s claims, Mohammadi said: ” I shall use all my legal rights as a protected Person under the Fourth Geneva Conventions and shall ask the International Committee of Jurists, which has 8500 members and lawyers from Switzerland, Britain and Canada are also members of this Committee, to complain for not respecting the common article 3 of Geneva Conventions about “ attack on the honor” .
