
Supporters of the Iranian Resistance continued their protest gathering and sit-in outside the United Nations European Headquarters and the UN High Commission for Refugees in Geneva, calling on the world body to recognize Liberty as a refugee camp.
Iranians also gathered in Toronto and Sydney in similar measures to express their support for Ashraf and Liberty residents and demand their rights to respected.
In Sydney, New South Wales State Parliament Representative David Shuberidge delivered a speech at the gathering stressing Iran has executed 100 people in the past three weeks. The New South Wales Parliament unanimously condemned these crimes and we call on the Australian government to take urgent action in this regard, he added.
Peter Murphy, Chairman of the Coalition for Peace and Justice in Sydney delivered a speech on behalf of the Australian Committee for Democracy in Iran saying we are standing before the Australian Foreign Ministry to tell the Foreign Minister more action is needed against the Iranian regime, and to send this message to millions of Iranians that we support the establishment of democracy in Iran.
