
Seyed Davoud Rahimi, transferred to cell number 52 in ward 240 of Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison for launching a hunger strike, has been beaten by prison authorities and transferred to a hospital, recent reports indicate. According to one of his cellmates this prisoner was severely beaten for chanting slogans against Khamenei.
Rahimi had been on hunger strike and on Saturday, May 4th, he was transferred from ward 8 of Evin Prison to ward 9 known as ‘240’. One day after his transfer he was severely beaten for chanting slogans against Khamenei. The blows led him to go unconscious and he was first transferred to the prison clinic, and thus to a medical center outside of the prison. This prisoner was returned again from the hospital to his cell in Evin’s ward 240.
