Interview with Ashraf resident in Camp Liberty

Al Jazeera TV aired an interview with an Ashraf resident who has transferred to Camp Liberty at the entrance of the new site. Saeed Mohammad told Al Jazeera TV:
“Last night, after having the residents and their belongings were searched and inspected for 12 hours by the Iraqi police and Army, 397 Camp Ashraf residents were transferred to Camp Liberty. However, when we reached Camp Liberty, we were suddenly faced with a new military force that demanded to inspect the residents again… The second inhumane inspection took place … while there was an agreement between Iraqi forces and the UN Secretary General’s representative in Iraq that inspections would only take place in Camp Ashraf, and then the residents would enter Camp without another inspection. From 7 in the morning of Saturday until 12 pm, we were not allowed inside for five hours while we were searched standing before Camp Ashraf’s gates.”
“This inspection is an insult to the residents. Furthermore, after reaching Camp Liberty we were faced with an individual by the name of Sadegh Mohammad Kazem from the committee associated to the Iraqi prime ministry, who is also the murderer of Ashraf residents and is under prosecution by the Spanish National Court for crimes against humanity against Ashraf residents. This individual with such a record, was monitoring the second round of inspection in Liberty, and we consider this as a violation of international laws and an insult to the residents. This is unacceptable for Ashraf residents.”
