In an article published by Asharq al-Awsat entitled “Flames of Iraq War Heading in Which Direction?” Former Algerian Prime Minister Sid Ahmed Ghozali wrote: Following the failure of Iraqi forces and the Iranian regimes in annihilating Ashraf, 9 months ago Tehran began an intense psychological warfare against Ashraf residents.
Asharq al-Awsat adds: The Iranian regime, through its embassy in Baghdad and in cooperation with the Iraqi Prime Ministry and the office of Nouri Maliki, has dispatched dozens of its intelligence agents to the camp’s entrance under the guise of Ashraf residents’ family members. They have been brought to use powerful speakers to scream and threaten to kill and hang and execute the Mojahedin, and chant slogans praising Ahmadinejad, Khamenei and Khomeini.
Another section of the article states: On one hand, the Iranian regime does not allow the Iraqi government to form and on the other, inflicts its hatred on the PMOI members in Ashraf.
