Germany: Ceremony marks PMOI’s 50th anniversary

Supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization, Iran’s principle organized opposition group, in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne held a series of gatherings and events to mark the group’s 50th anniversary. These events included gatherings, photo exhibitions and rallies.
One of the events was held last week at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin by supporters of the PMOI (MEK).
Numerous international guests spoke at the various events including the former Vice President of the European Parliament, Dr. Alejo Vidal-Quadras, who spoke at an event for Iranian youth activists who support the PMOI (MEK).
September 6 marked the 50th anniversary of the formation of the PMOI (or Mujahedin-e Khalq, MEK).
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) or (Mujahedeen-e Khalq MEK) was founded on September 6, 1965, by Mohammad Hanifnejad, Said Mohsen, and Ali-Ashgar Badizadgan. All three engineers were later arrested and executed by the Shah’s regime.
Several similar events were held last week to mark the 50th anniversary of the PMOI (MEK) in other major European cities, including Paris and London, as well as North America.
