New Delhi, India: February 19, 2011 – IR Summary/GBA – God Believers Association (GBA), World Peace & Human Right Mission, assails the cruel and inhuman medical restrictions, which have continuously been imposed on Ashraf residents by the Iraqi Prime Ministry Committee on Ashraf ,for arouned 3 years , and urge the Iraq’s Health Minister for annulling the medical blockade to enable the residents of Ashraf to get free access to medical services in the spirit of human rights. A written appeal in the form of e mail has been sent to the Iraq’s Health Minister.
Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist and Lead Man of GBA, while drawing the attention of Iraqi Govt, United Nations, US Administration on the violation of human rights against the residents of Ashraf in Iraq, expressed his concern here on Saturday that the Ashraf residents are being mistreated worse than animals particularly in the present age claimed to be a civilized society, how sad and ridiculous!
Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist, further said, “It is a matter of serious violation of human rights which has attracted the world attention, particularly by the human right lovers and the peoples of the international community. What’s the solution? Should every leader at the helm keep quiet like a silent spectator and let these innocent poor people be denied their legitimate human rights of medical treatment?
GBA President said, “It is really very shocking for any civilized country of the world to observe such degraded behavior to the innocent human beings of Ashraf residents. Restrictions on medical services and denial of treatment to them are causing dangerous consequences, the conditions of the patients of the Ashraf Camp are deteriorating day by day. There is no check, no treatment, no attention; rather they are totally neglected medically and they are left at the mercy of cruel time to attain slow death after continuous terrible painful suffering without medical care.
The state of affairs have been going on since 2009, several unfortunate patients lost their lives in absence of proper medical care, which care is totally restricted, rather banned and denied to them.
On one side the Iraqi forces’ are inflicting severe injuries on the residents of Ashraf camp for no reason except that they are innocently living and silently bearing the tyranny of the Iraqi Govt. with no proper and practical protection by the United Nations .
Whatever the UN and the USA have done to help them out is just on paper, their directions are totally disrespected by the Iraqi authorities by refusing to obey their directions. On the other side, the Iraqi govt. have given liberty to their forces to attack their camp as and when they like to do it and inflict severe in injuries to them through continuous brutal attacks over them; there is no check why and how they launch their physical beating to the poor and innocent residents of Ashraf. Thereafter, a total denial of proper and right medical treatment that the patients deserve after receiving injuries by the Iraqi forces.
What type of this world is, where these innocent, helpless and peaceful people of Ashraf Camp are staying; it is, infact, the most deplorable and unacceptable conditions of these peaceful human beings?
From 2003 to 2008 when the US forces were responsible for the protection of Ashraf, the residents’ medical needs were provided at their own expenses and they enjoyed free access to medical services throughout Iraq. Unfortunately, from the beginning of 2009 an all-out siege has been enforced on Camp Ashraf residents, restricting their access to any kind of medical service.
Under orders from the Iraqi armed forces, the director of the Ashraf hospital has for three weeks refrained from delivering the medicine the residents purchased at their own expense.
For nearly two years Camp Ashraf residents have procured all the equipment and supplies needed to establish a hospital (including the building facilities and medical equipment) at their own expense and transferred it to the Diyala Health Department. The Diyala Health Department committed itself to take the responsibility of providing the all the residents’ medical services and treatment.
Unfortunately, the hospital director, who works under the directions of the Ashraf Suppression Committee in the Iraqi Prime Ministry, by breaching his medical oath, is not only of any assistance to the residents, rather the hospital under his supervision, in light of calls and reiterations of international human rights organs and members of parliaments from across the world, has become part of the Iraqi government’s policy of imposing pressure on Ashraf residents.
A delegation, which on behalf of the Health Ministry was reported to have visited Ashraf on 3 January 2011, who issued a false report on the pains and sufferings and problems of the residents, how sad and inhuman on the part of such fake reporting, which has added to the suffering of the Residents of Ashraf.
This report has been issued at a time where Iraqi security forces prohibited the delegation from entering the camp and speaking to the residents, and they visited the New Iraq Hospital in the camp while encircled by Iraqi Army and security forces. Therefore, the presented report did not reflect the right picture of extremely dire medical conditions of Ashraf.
In light of the abovementioned issues, the suffering of these residents of Ashraf should be ended and the restrictions of medical care be lifted and they should be treated like human beings and not as animals awaiting massacre. Proper free access to medical services across Iraq be provided to them, and the medication of patients, which have been provided by the residents themselves and entered into the camp, be released from the custody of the hospital director.
The God Believers Association (GBA), which is a World Peace & Human Right Mission, seeks proper justice for the Ashraf residents, which should be provided to them in the spirit of human right and due justice with consultation of the camp residents, who can better explain their sufferings and solutions to their agonies.
Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist and Lead Man of God Believers Association (GBA), World Peace & Human Right Mission, also urges the Secretary General of the United Nations in addition to the Ambassador James Jeffrey, US Embassy In Iraq and Gen. Lloyd Austin, Commander of U.S. Forces-Iraq, Baghdad Iraq to look into the issue sympathetically in the spirit of the huaman rights.
