In a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the French human rights NGO “Action Together for Human Rights”, with UN advisory ranking, raised concerns about the conditions of Camp Ashraf residents in northern Iraq.
In its letter, this French NGO stressed Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki has announced 121 arrest warrants for Ashraf residents, accusing them of terrorism, atrocious crimes against Iraqis and murdering political and religious figures in Iran. “Action Together for Human Rights” added these warrants are in violation of the residents’ right to defense and respect for human dignity, adding these documents have been fabricated by the Iranian regime’s intelligence services.
This NGO also raised concerns on Ashraf residents’ relocation to Camp Liberty, calling on the UN to dispatch a UN monitoring team to Camp Liberty to assure of the residents’ protection until their full resettlement in third countries.
