French committee expresses concern on violent measures against Ashraf residents

The French Committee for a Democratic Iran issued a statement announcing:
“While the regime ruling Iran, taking advantage of the Christmas and New Year holidays, is on the verge of intensifying suppressive measures against its main opposition, the French Committee for a Democratic Iran – consisting of numerous MPs, judges and former ministers – expresses it deep concerns regarding the violent measures Iraqi forces under the command of this regime have carried out against Camp Ashraf.”
This statement, describing details of the Iraqi security forces’ attack on Ashraf residents and patients in the camp’s hospital, continues:
“The Ashraf suppression committee, with illegal measures and imposing further medical restrictions against the residents, is seeking to carry out the announced policy of making living conditions “intolerable” in Ashraf for its residents by using the hospital as a means of increasing its harassment of the residents.”
The French Committee for a Democratic Iran condemned the Iraqi forces’ behavior, calling on the new government to abide by its international obligations and respect international humanitarian standards, especially in regards to Ashraf residents’ full rights guaranteed under the 4th Geneva Convention. This committee called on the US to assume its responsibility of providing protection for Ashraf and therefore prepare the conditions for a UNAMI monitoring team to permanently station in Ashraf.
