Expel Martin Kobler, for he has no competence or decency

An article published by the Azzaman daily on December 23rd entitled “Expel Martin Kobler” states:
Martin Kobler, the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Iraq is responsible to defend citizens’ civil rights, maintain their lives and provide for their protection based on the Geneva Conventions. However, the record of the SRSG in Iraq is completely in contrast to his duties. Instead of being an element to resolve the problems and aggressions that Iraqis are facing in prisons, he is actually an element that makes problems even more difficult and a witness of lies that actually covers up human rights violations in Iraq…. One year ago he issued false and deceptive reports of Camp Ashraf, and other fabricated reports of Camp Liberty portraying conditions there as natural and good. But this was a complete cover-up…
We demand from Iraqi Members of Parliament, who represent the people, to take a stance against this UN official who acts in a biased manner against the Iraqi nations’ demands and rights, and expel Martin Kobler from Iraq because he neither has any competence or decency.
He cannot be trusted and feels no responsibility regarding the humane obligations that UN laws and the 1949 Geneva Convention specify and he has come to Iraq to guarantee.
