European Parliamentarians offer their Support for Iranian Resistance in Great Gathering of Iranians in Paris

Excerpts of the speeches of some prominent parliamentarians from different European countries- 28 June:

Lord Robin Corbett, head of the British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom, in his inaugural remarks, said: This week we acquired a great victory when the British government removed PMOI from the proscribed organizations; this is a great achievement for the Iranian Resistance and Mrs. Maryam Rajavi.

Prof. Dr. Henk de Haan, Chairman of the Dutch Group of Friends of a Free Iran: The common point for which we have gathered here is that we all advocate a free and democratic Iran; I hope that all European governments and particularly my own government Netherlands comply with the British government’s decision and remove PMOI off the terrorist list.

Carlo Ciccolli, Italian MP: Along with other Italian parliamentarians and on behalf of the Nation’s Freedom Party and myself and the democratic parties who are present in this gathering, I want to express our feelings and the support of Italian nation of you. Your outstanding presence from across the world is the sign of unanimity of views that exists in your struggle; you advanced a resistance movement for years and now it has come the moment of victory. 30 years of depravity and darkness under the rule of mullahs is enough. we can not only consider economic interests and political considerations and not listen to your struggle. The British Court verdict that has removed you from the list of terrorist organizations has created a great hope; you are now recognized as the Iranian nation’s official representatives across the world.
Yves Bonnet, former Chief of the French Counter-terrorism Organization (DST): The UK Parliament’s decision for removing the PMOI from terrorist list is a victory for democracy. The Iranian Resistance movement was exposed to many dangers due to terrorist designation, but this path was opened by the honest people and a victory was obtained; today is the day of victory, but we have to keep our vigilance, we have to remind that this resistance continues.

Alejo Vidal-Quadras, Vice President of the European Parliament: Before everything let me send my sincere regards to combatants of Ashraf City who are fighting for freedom of their country; they have shown their gentry in struggle for democracy and pay its price daily, their daily suffering and hardship for freedom will be recorded in your country’s history ; our souls and hearts have been united and this is the best sample and inspiration for us; It is not only the support of the PMOI in our political program, rather our humanitarian reputation warrants us, this is a popular movement which is led under the leadership of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi with full competence and I congratulate you , Mrs. President, for your bravery and bright leadership. It is an honor to me to be able to serve under your flag.
I am also hopeful to have the chance to meet Massoud Rajavi, the historic leader of the PMOI. I know he has paid a heavy price during these years against dictatorship. I see the victory in your eyes; victory is very close, much closer than we think.

Jean-Pierre Berart, representative of the French National Assembly: I have come here today to have a surprise for you, for the first time, the representatives of the French National Assembly have united in your support;190 Members of Parliament from different parties.
