In a recent session held at the European Parliament at the initiative of Friends of a Free Iran Committee, MEP Soren Sondergaard, member of Bureau of Group of European United Left delivered a speech stressing.

Thank you I will be extremely brief it is correct that we had scheduled this meeting till 300 o’clock and of course people have other commitments. We are at the end of the year and we have to look back when we started the Friends of a Free Iran, PMOI was still on the terrorist list of the EU we had an imminent threat against the inhabitants of camp Ashraf we saw one massacre that was threat to be a total massacre of all the inhabitants and we had the PMOI on the US terrorist list. Of course that is not all because of our work lot of people had done a lot of work but we had helped to get the PMOI off the EU terrorist list and put awareness about the situation in camp Ashraf and together with our American colleagues put pressure to get the PMOI off the US terrorist list. So there is some progress and this progress has only happened because there has been pressure by lot of colleagues and lot of work has been done therefore we have to say the only way to get further progress and of course the progress we need has been outlined today recognition of Liberty as a refugee camp that the EU countries should take people to their countries the property and belongings of the people in camp Ashraf they should be able to sell it. This demands that there will be a lot of pressure and we have to continue and we have to discuss very concretely how do we take new initiative at the beginning of the next year in order to rally our colleagues around some concrete initiatives and ask them to put pressure on all the people involved in this business in order to get some progress. So I just wanted to say thank you for all the work done this year happy new year to all of you and we have to continue the fight.
