On Thursday, January 26th, supporters of the Iranian Resistance and Ashraf residents staged their 279th consecutive day of sit-in outside the UN European Headquarters in Geneva. The participants in this sit-in who also took part in a demonstration called for UN intervention on the subject of Ashraf residents’ relocation to Camp Liberty and for the world organization to prevent Liberty from being transformed into a prison by Maliki’s government at the behest of the Iranian regime.
The protesters also gathered outside the UNHCR office demanding interviews with Ashraf residents for their refugee status procedures to begin immediately in Ashraf, stressing delays by the UNHCR in this regard are unacceptable.
