Concurrent with the entrance of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon into Denmark on Tuesday, October 11th, supporters of the Iranian Resistance and PMOI and family members of Ashraf residents staged a demonstration in the cold and rainy weather, which drew the attention of attendees at a conference held on the occasion of the Secretary General’s entrance.
The protesters held banners in their hands calling on the UNSG to prevent another massacre at Camp Ashraf.
The UNSG delegation and Ban Ki-moon, while passing by the demonstrators, were incredibly touched and waved their hands in applause. In the meeting with the Iranian Resistance, the envoy indicated to the demonstrators’ perseverance.
Danish Media constantly provided photo and film coverage of the demonstration.
In the end, a delegation on behalf of the Union of Iranian Associations presented the demands of the Iranians and Ashraf residents’ family members to Mr. Ban Ki-moon. Also, letters from the Committee for a Free Iran was presented to Mr. Ban Ki-moon which called for the guarantee of Ashraf residents’ protection.
