Honourable Nouri Al-Maliki
Prime Minister of Iraq
Baghdad, Iraq
Via Email – URGENT
Dear Hon. Al-Maliki:
Re: Situation of 36 Camp Ashraf Detainees
We have learned today that an Iraq court has ordered for the third time and in no uncertain term the immediate release of 36 Ashraf residents who are detained in the city of Khalis but the Iraqi police have refused to carry on the court order.

Since these hostages are on their 63rd day of hunger strike and their lives are at stake, any
incident about their well being and lives are the sole responsibility of the Iraqi Government.
Therefore we urge you to issue an immediate order that these 36 residents be freed at once and
be transferred to their habitual residence in Camp Ashraf before we see any other loss of life.

The rule of law requires that Iraq conforms to its own judicial decisions and international law.
We expect an urgent action from your government to relevant authorities.

Sincerely:
