Call for Liberty residents’ return to Camp Ashraf

Following the deadly missile attack again Liberty residents, Iraqi associations and dignitaries issue calls for residents to be returned to Camp Ashraf for their security and protection.


 


The Iraq National Forces Association in Diyala Province issued a statement calling for the return of PMOI members from Liberty Prison to Camp Ashraf in Diyala.
“Now it has been proven that the forceful transfer of the Diyala people’s dear guests is an Iranian regime plot to annihilate its opposition, carried out by the Iraqi government in cooperation with United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Martin Kobler,” the statement reads in part.


 


Former Iraqi MP Dr. Ali Zalaeen issued a statement condemned the missile attack against Liberty and called on the United Nations for the Liberty residents’ return to Ashraf.
“We hold the international community and the UN directly responsible for the Liberty residents’ safety and well-being,” the statement reads in part.
 


 



Parliament of Iraqi Tribal Sheikhs and Dignitaries issued a statement condemning the Liberty missile attack.
“To keep safe the guests of the Iraqi people from Iran’s missile attacks, have the Iranian refugees residing in Camp Liberty retuned to Ashraf,” the statement reads in part.
“Coinciding with the soar of popular demonstrations and uprisings in Iraq against cruelty and inequality, and while our people in every demonstration are chanting “Iran, out, out” demanding the expulsion of the Iranian regime from Iraqi soil, we once again witness the massacre of defenseless Iranian refugees, members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran in Iraq. However, this time in Liberty, a former US military base located near the Baghdad International Airport,” the statement continued.
