Conference in Cairo
9 political parties and 12 civil society organizations in Egypt declare solidarity with residents of Ashraf and Liberty

The Egyptian parties include the al-Ghad, al-Nosseri, al-Tajamo, Freedom, Reform and Development, al-Haq, National Egypt, al-Vafad, and Egypt Alliance parties.
Egyptian political parties and civil society organizations held a conference in Cairo announcing their support for the residents of Ashraf and Liberty. The statement issued at this conference reads in part:
“Iraqi forces must be transferred outside of Liberty; Ashraf residents must be allowed to take all their belongings and vehicles to Liberty and sell their immovable items; any entrance of Iranian regime agents inside Camp Liberty or its surrounding area must be prevented.
“The residents must have access to full medical services and enjoy security and freedom. Liberty’s gates must be opened to reporters and the residents’ lawyers and family members.”
