Baghdad continues to harass PMOI despite delisting

Al Lewa International daily (Egypt), Washington, 23 Oct 2012 – Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Bashar al-Feizi, official spokesman of the Association of Muslim Scholars took part in an exclusive interview with al-Hadath news center, stressing the US decision to delist the PMOI is nothing new and their efforts to remove this designation was ongoing for some time. Without a doubt, this decision will strongly influence events in the region and deliver a strong blow to Iran’s projects in Baghdad and the region, he added.
“The Iraqi government, as Iran’s tool, will attempt to continue harassing PMOI members in Liberty or Ashraf, and the delisting of this organization will not prevent its measures because this government implements Iran’s plots,” he added.
On the subject of the Iraqi government preventing the entrance of journalists and lawyers to Camp Liberty to become informed of the conditions inside, Sheikh Feizi said, “In the Iraqi government, there is neither a complete democracy, or half of it, a quarter of it, and not even a tenth of democracy. There is no expectation to see democratic signs from this government because it has annihilated all democratic values.”
He emphasized, “The Iraqi people are not satisfied of the government’s policies regarding Camp Ashraf because the PMOI are Iraq’s guests and the Iraqi government is treating them against our traditions. The Iraqi people were delighted on the PMOI delisting because it is a blow to the Iraqi government’s policies against this organization.”
